After a steady series of six EPs over three years, Melbourne producer Tennis Pagan expands his playful vision of electronica on his debut album, half normalled.

The music of Tennis Pagan is comfort food for adventurous electronic music lovers, equally full of warmth and wonder. His signature sound is playful, and rich in both atmosphere and detail. Skittering rhythmic patterns and warm ambient tones nod gently to the landmark artists of Warp's IDM heyday, with influence also taken from the producer's lifelong obsession with Japan and Japanese experimental music.

Listen closely and you might hear more personal touches like the strum of a guitar or a sample from daily life, but even the most mundane sound is recontextualised as something wondrous by Tennis Pagan's relentlessly curious spirit. His production breaks convention without ever breaking connection, conjuring alien worlds without ever alienating the listener.
